ACCESSIBILITY
Prairie Fire Theatre does not have its own performance venue; however, we strive to select venues in our community that are accessible to our patrons who use mobility devices. For additional information or questions, please contact us at 309.808.8558 or info@prairiefiretheatre.org.
We use or have used various venues over the years. The venues we will be using this season are:
ASTROTH COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER (Heartland Community College) – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
- Entrance: The main entrance is located on the East side of the building, adjacent to the parking lot.
- Restrooms: Accessible restrooms located adjacent to auditorium.
- Auditorium: The auditorium is located on the 2nd floor and is accessed via stairs or elevator.
- Seating: Spaces for wheelchairs are available in the first and last rows of the auditorium.
McLEAN COUNTY ARTS CENTER – Cabaret 1900
- Entrance: The main entrance is located on N East St and is accessible via a ramp.
- Restrooms: Accessible restroom is located on the main floor, adjacent to the performance area.
- Seating: Seating consists of foldable chairs which are easily move and removed to accommodate a wheelchair.
HANSEN STUDENT CENTER (Illinois Wesleyan University) – Garden Party Annual Champagne Gala and Fundraiser
- Entrance: Accessible entrance located on Franklin Blvd
- Restrooms: Accessible restroom located on the main level with additional restrooms located on the lower level (accessible via elevator)
- Seating: Seating for the Gala is at large round tables (8 people per table). Patrons who use wheelchairs may remain in their chair throughout the evening or may sit in one of the folding chairs that are provided.
CONNIE LINK AMPHITHEATRE – A Little Night Music With Prairie Fire Theatre
- Entrance: The Connie Link Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue owned by the Town of Normal. Visitors enter the amphitheater from either Linden Street or the Constitution Trail. There are no stairs to the venue.
- Seating: The venue does not provide seating. Patrons must provide their own seating. Patrons who use wheelchairs may remain in their chairs for the performance. Other patrons are encouraged to bring folding/lawn chairs.
- Restrooms: Accessible restroom facilities are available nearby.
