Dr. Ron Lennon and his husband, Dr. Randy Rentfro have been supporters of Prairie Fire theatre since moving to Normal in April 2025. Prior to his retirement, Dr. Lennon was a university professor, specializing in marketing. He was a marketing professor and Associate Dean during his 20-year career at Barry University (Miami), and he was on the marketing faculty at University of South Florida (Sarasota/Manatee) for seven years. While completing his Ph.D. in Business-Marketing, he taught at Towson University (Baltimore, MD), the College of Notre Dame (Baltimore, MD), and the University of Baltimore.
Although he spent his career as an academic, his first love was always the theatre. His undergraduate degree was in Theatre Management. During their years living in Florida, he and Randy were major supporters of the Manatee Performing Arts Center (Bradenton, FL). Ron served on MPAC’s board for 10 years, with the last 4 as chair. He was chair during COVID, making each day a challenge for the organization. Ron has served on several other non-profit Board of Directors, including Parenting Matters (Bradenton, FL) Stonewall Library and Archives (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Broward House (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
Ron is excited to join the Board of Directors of Prairie Fire Theatre.
